It got me thinking about why I love what I do; I love it so much that when a photographer sends me pictures from a great shoot, it makes me feel like I’m so in love and just can’t wait for my man to pick me up for our date so I can kiss him! I think that’s a pretty good way to feel about a job

6 months before your wedding day

- Give your skin some TLC Now is the time to find the perfect skin care regimen for you depending on your skin type. Always cleanse skin twice a day with a cleanser and toner fallowed by a light lotion and hight SPF sunscreen in the day and a hydrating cream at night. Starting a Good skin care regimen well before your preview session, engagements portraits, bridal portraits and wedding day is very important to how your makeup will look and last.

- Schedule a course of facials  If your skin is in good health, a series of facials every four to six weeks will help ensure your skin will be clear and radiant on your wedding day.

- See a dermatologist If you have any problems with your skin, now is the time to start talking to a doctor.

3 months before your wedding day

- Start looking for your makeup style This is the time to start planning out what your makeup will look like for your bridals and wedding day. Start by looking online or though magazines to find a look that suits you or talk with your makeup artist. Having an idea of what style of makeup feels right to you will ensure you feel beautifully stunning, but most of all, like yourself!

- Schedule your makeup trial session Now it’s time to put all those makeup styles you like to the test! Be sure to snap pictures in-between looks so you can think them over later.  A trial session weeks before your wedding will also help to ease your nerves on the big day. I highly recommend this services for all my brides. Your makeup style should never be a last minute decision.

1-2 weeks before any makeup application

- Schedule a Dermaplane session This exfoliation treatment results in a healthy glow as well as removing “peach fuzz.” We recommend scheduling one a week before your trial, engagements and bridals.

- See a brow specialist Now is the time to get those brows under control. Letting a pro help you will ensure they are shaped the best way for your face.

I also knew that the always fun and talented photographer Eric Doggett would be there to capture ever detail, and one of my favorite weddings coordinators, Lorena Molina from Something to Celebrate, would be there to make sure everything when off without a hitch…

What I did not know (or expect for that matter), was that Amanda and Leon were planning to surprise everyone at the reception with a Thriller-inspired dance!

1. Type: First decide what kind of foundation if best for you. There are three basic types of foundation, liquid, cream, or powder. Liquid is the most popular and is very good for most skin types, and usually gives a light to medium coverage. Cream is very versatile and depending on how much you apply it can give a light to heavy coverage. Powder tends to be good for sensitive skin because it doesn’t clog pores as much, but it will usually give a light coverage.

2. Shade: You’ve chosen the type of foundation you need, now it’s time to find the perfect shade. Always try at least three shades on your cheek, not your hand, and view in natural light, even if this means walking out of the mall with a small mirror! You must also identify weather you have yellow or pink undertones, one of the most common mistakes made in choosing a foundation. This is easily done by looking at different foundations on your skin; you want one that seems to disappear when applied. In my experience, most people have yellow undertones, but it’s much harder to find foundation shades with yellow tones.

Follow these easy steps and you’ll be on your way to the perfect foundation!
